Elephant’s Eye Cave Hike

The Elephant’s Eye Cave is in the western part of the Silvermine Nature Reserve,  Cape Town, a 20 min drive  from the city centre. Take the M3 south out of the city, at the end of the M3, turn right and at the 2nd traffic light thereafter, turn left onto Ou Kaapse Weg.  As you reach the top, the entrance to  Silvermine Nature Reserve is to your right.  There is a R45 entrance fee per person at the gate, or present your green/wild card. You will receive a brochure  with info about the reserve. Proceed to the parking area at the reservoir. IMG_2100.JPGBring your own food, drinks and water as there is no shop. There is a public bathroom at the start of the trail. Wear comfortable shoes and bring along a warm jacket….the weather can suddenly change.
